General
The bigger the arsenal of high-end stompboxes and cables, the longer your effects chain gets. The longer your effects chain gets, the greater the risk that your dry signal is compromised. For years already, professional guitarists have solved the problem by mixing the dry signal with the wet signal. In other words, the signal that reaches the amplifier is a balanced mix of the clean and effected sound. Usually, you'd only be able to find this kind of signal mixer available in a rack format, but here, Xotic have neatly packed all of the same functionality inside a convenient stompbox.
The Xotic X-Blender: 'Series Mode' + Bypass
With the Xotic X blender, your instrument signal can be sent to your amplifier via your effects chain using two different routes, or just bypass the effects chain entirely. As soon as the Blend switch is deactivated, the X-Blender enters series mode, and your guitar signal is switched into series with your effects, essentially turning this problem-solving pedal into an FX-loop on/bypass switch.
The Xotic X-Blender: 'Parallel Mode' + Bypass
Activate the Blend switch, and the X-Blender enters parallel mode, activating the Dry/Wet blend control pot as well as the active tone controls. A 6dB signal boost can be deployed at will, while the phase inverter switch planted just to the left of the blend pot can be flipped to correct any signal that's out-of-phase with the dry signal - great news if you're playing with vintage pedals.
