Sire's Marcus Miller V3 is an attractively-priced bass guitar that's suitable for players of all levels. Sire are well known for offering products that are excellent value for money and this J-style bass is certainly no exception. It has a scale length of 34 inches with a C profile maple neck and a 38 mm-wide string nut which combine to give it a high level of playing comfort.

Marcus Miller V3: versatile

The V3 has a mahogany body and is equipped with two Marcus Standard Jazz Bass single-coil pickups. The comprehensive controls and active Marcus Heritage 3 preamplifier with 3-band EQ give you everything you need to find just the sound you're looking for. Achetée chez Bax il y a quinze jours. Après avoir été le propriétaire de la V7 qui m'avait convaincu, j'ai voulu me rendre compte de ce pouvait être sa petite sœur. Pas déçu quant à la qualité de fabrication mais pas fan du son. Tout en fait ressemble à la V7 (même usine à gaz en actif) mais on s'éloigne de ce que l'on peut attendre des sonorités et du grain JB. Les micros ne sont pas les mêmes que sur V7, même si le préampli est identique. Alors certains adoreront, pour ma part moins. J'ai d'autre part été gêne par un écartement des cordes de 19 qui aura la préférence chez les fans de slap. Je n'ai pas pu trouver un son qui me convienne parfaitement,aussi bien en passif qu'en actif,pas grave c'était pour moi une deuxième basse, alors je l'ai revendue. Ceci dit le rapport qualité/prix est bon si l'on tient compte de la fabrication, mais elle est beaucoup moins enthousiasmante que la V7. Mais pour 275 euros active/passive on ne peut pas non plus demander l'impossible. En conclusion si vous êtes addict comme moi au grain JB, vous pourriez être un peu déçus.
