General
German company Sandberg is the place to look for guitars and bass guitars with excellent sound and outstanding build quality. The Sandberg California VM4 (with a high-gloss black finish) is just one of their carefully crafted, high-quality instruments. It is a reliable 4-string electric bass guitar with a black, traditional P-style body, a split single-coil pickup and even a powerhumbucker. The bass comes with a Sandberg gig bag.
VM4 Black HG: versatile and reliable
The VM4, from Sandberg's popular California series, has a body made of alder, a type of wood that is used for its balanced resonance and comfortably light weight. Additionally, this guitar's extremely solid neck is made of Canadian maple, and is attached to the body with no fewer than six screws. The maple and the six screws make the neck virtually unbendable, making sure it doesn't warp due to changes in air humidity. Also, thanks to the powerhumbucker at the bridge, the VM4 is capable of producing very rich, very raw sounds.
A modern bass guitar
Sandberg has equipped the VM4 with several noticeable modern features. For instance, it has a 0-fret instead of a normal string nut, so that the unfretted notes sound like fretted ones. Particularly practical are the bass guitar's 3-way adjustable bridge saddles, which allow you to accurately tune the bass, determine the action and adjust string spacing. Moreover, the machine heads' resistance can also be adjusted and the string tree on the headstock provide optimal pressure on the string nut.
