De Xone 42 is een professionele 4 kanaals mixer, voorzien van de VCF filtermodule, maar nu met usb! Innovatief aan dit model is het feit dat deze usb poort gebruikt kan worden om via de laptop effecten aan te sturen en kan deze poort gebruikt worden om je set mee op te nemen of audio uit de computer de mixer in te sturen. Tevens blijft natuurlijk de mogelijkheid via send return je hardware effecten te gebruiken, deze zijn door de X-FX knop zelfs te mengen met het VCF filter! In veel elektronische muziek is de filter een gemeenschappelijk effect geworden. Dit bereik word gecreëerd door de scheidingsfrequentie van VCF, dit is soms zeer langzaam te variëren om de ondertonen van de oscillator te openbaren of te verbergen.
Ook is de mixer voorzien van een 3-bands toonregeling per kanaal met killfunctie, een microfooningang mét toonregeling en VCA crossfader met curvecontrol. Een volwassen Xone voor een bescheiden prijs!

Zag er goed uit, netjes verpakt, voelt erg solide aan. Sommige knoppen draaien nog een beetje stroef, maar dit is denk ik nieuwigheid. Verder komt er een erg vol en strak geluid uit. Heb alleen de Effect optie nog niet kunnen testen, omdat ik gewoonweg geen effecten/software heb. USB audio interface werkt wel prima, kon gewoon na even routen op elk kanaal via de pc afspelen.
Kortom, ben hier erg tevreden over, maar het echte werk moet natuurlijk nog komen als ik eraan gewend ben..
