New Firmware for the Roland TR-8S & TR-6S

Roland offers up some new firmware for both of their most sought-after drum machines: the Roland TR 8S and Roland TR 6S! These vintage-style, beat-based time-machines are getting a sweet, fully modern spruce. Because... why not?!

The CR-78 - 'In TR Tonight!'

The drum machines from yesteryear - namely Roland models - somehow always boasted slick operation which, considering the fact that you were dealing with nothing more than a mess of oscillators, ring-modulators, filters and envelopes, was no mean feat. With a little Roland magic, things managed to work perfectly, resulting in focussed and formed drum-like sounds. Take the now-classic CR-78: while primitive, its sonic style was a match for the old organs from the same era, but when put in the hands of a producer, you suddenly got big and dominant, pop-worthy beats.

With this free, brand new firmware for the TR-8S and TR-6S, you finally get to mess around with the sound of a CR-78! And that's not all: the TR-808 Chromatic Bass has also joined the party! Basically, thanks to this welcome update, these mega-popular drum boxes are about to get even more popular.
