NAMM 2016: Hughes & Kettner Expands Tubemeister Series With Deluxe 20 and Deluxe 40 M |
Thursday 21 January 2016 | |
At NAMM 2016, German amp manufacturer Hughes & Kettner presents two new Tubemeister lunchbox amps. The smaller version is called the Tubemeister Deluxe 20, and compared to its 18W predecessor, it has a few new features up its sleeve that are particularly handy for recordings, both at home and in the studio. Its bigger sibling, the 40-watt Tubemeister Deluxe 40, is a completely new guitar amp head, and features the same modern upgrades. De Tubemeister Deluxe 20 is a 20-watt tube guitar amp head. Two 12AX7 tubes send the preamplified signal to a duo of EL84s in the power amp. This results in 20 watts of clean, crunchy and completely overdriven sounds from this small 35 x 15 x 15 cm amp. New technology that Hughes & Kettner calls TSC (Tube Safety Control), manages to squeeze two more watts out of the power amp, and above all it guarantees stability and safe operation. Just like its predecessor, the Tubemeister Deluxe 20 features a Red Box DI, but it has extra features incorporated into the built-in cabinet simulator. You can choose between modern and a vintage sounds, small or large cabinet modes, and even between a line-out sound or a miked amplifier sound. That makes this small amp head into a highly versatile device, that will sound great when used with a speaker cabinet. The Tubemeister Deluxe 40 doesn't just double the Deluxe 20s power, it also offers a few interesting specifications. Here too we find the Red Box DI that gives your guitar sound a dose of Ambience Emulation, but still offers a genuine FRFR (Full Range Flat Response). The Tubemeister Deluxe 40 is MIDI switchable and even has a learn feature. Any setting changes will be saved immediately. All in all, these are specs that are sure to come in handy both live and in the studio! Be sure to keep an eye on the relevant product pages for up-to-date info on prices and delivery times.
