NAMM 2016: Akai Joins In with the BT-500 Record Player

Thursday 21 January 2016

The return of vinyl is a fact. More and more people are dusting off their old record collections to enjoy that true, warm vinyl sound once more. To cater to their needs, Akai has issued a good old-fashioned record player that boasts a few practical, modern twists.

BT-500

Akai has been delivering quality goods for decades, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that the BT-500 is a real hi-fi record player. Featuring a clever design and plenty of modern technology, this record player is equipped with an isolated DC motor, gold-plated connectors, a die-cast aluminium platter and a special dual moving magnet cartridge.

The BT-500 also boasts a built-in audio interface that allows you to digitise your records at a sample rate of 44.1 or 48 kHz - that means better audio quality than a CD recording! Now you can not just enjoy your vinyl collection at home, but take the digital files with you wherever you go.

What's more, the Akai BT-500 features Bluetooth functionality. The record player's housing has an integrated Bluetooth streaming module that sends sound directly to any Bluetooth speaker, so you won't have to deal with any annoying cables.
