At the summer NAMM in Nashville, Fender announced the Flea Signature Jazz Bass. This is a reissue of the '61 Jazz Bass in Nitrocellulose Shell Pink (probably the only one in the world!) owned by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers bassist Flea. This special model will be available in a limited number only and Bax Music will definitely be getting their hands on some! Flea was given the Fender Shell Pink '61 Jazz Bass by a fan and used it to record tracks on the Stadium Arcadium and The Getaway albums. Nitrocellulose Shell Pink is one of the rarest Custom Colours and it's possible that Flea's '61 bass is the only one of its kind in the world! Of course, the finish has faded, cracked and peeled over time and Fender has recreated Flea's model as faithfully as possible, giving this model an especially authentic look. Pure Vintage pickupsThe bass is fitted with two vintage-style Pure Vintage '64 Jazz Bass single-coils that give it punch in the mid-range and bright articulation. The well-defined sound delivers deep lows and singing highs. There are concentric stacked vintage-style controls for volume, tone and blend for each position. The neck plate even features the same engraving that Flea himself put on his own unique model. Make your own music historyFlea's fearless funky playing is one of the main reasons that the Red Hot Chilli Peppers have reached the top in the world of music. Certainly, he has played an important role in the way basses are played in modern music today. It could be said, therefore, that his '61 jazz bass has helped to play a role in music history. Now, you too can write your own chapter by owning Fender's Flea Signature Bass. Related brandsRelated products |
