ChickenPicks plectrums are now available at Bax Music

Monday 20 February 2017 by Richard | Bax Music

ChickenPicks top-quality plectrums have been gaining in popularity for some time now and Bax Music have just added them to our extensive range products.

More than chicken pickin'

The name ChickenPicks certainly suggests that these plectrums are ideal for Country and Bluegrass styles, which they are, but that's not all. In fact, they're perfect for playing just about any style of music. These plastic picks are made using a thermosetting process and finished by hand. As a result, they produce a pronounced sound that you'd expect to hear from a pick many times thicker. That means you can play with a pick of standard thickness but get a much bigger sound from it. Thanks to the thermosetting process, plectrums by ChickenPicks are also extremely durable.

Shapes and sizes

There are two ChickenPicks series: Original and Tritone III. The Original line of plectrums have a standard shape and come in thicknesses of 2.2, 2.6 and 3.5 mm. The thickest of the three is known as Shredder and is, unsurprisingly, excellent for playing lightning-fast metal riffs. In the Tritone III range, there are two different shapes, the Badazz III and the Bermuda III. The Badazz III's are jazz-shaped plectrums that come in 2.0 and 2.5 mm thicknesses. The Bermuda III plectrums are triangle-shaped and come in thicknesses of 2.1 and 2.7 mm. No matter what style of music you play, there's sure to be a ChickenPicks plectrum to suit you.
