These days, many singers and songwriters are keen to set up their own home recording studio but aren't sure where to begin. That's not surprising, considering there are so many options out there. Recording kits for vocalists and singer/songwriters

There are more recording kits in the pipeline, but to start with we've got kits for vocalists and singer/songwriters. Kits in the Vocal series are designed for singers who want to record themselves on their computer. They contain everything you need to add vocals to an existing song. The Singer/Songwriter kits are very similar but take into account the fact that you'll probably want to record your own music with an instrument at the same time as well. For that reason, they have two microphones: one for your vocals and one for your instrument.

What's in the kits?

The kits contain either one or two microphones, depending on which series you choose, and you also get an audio interface, a set of headphones and the relevant cables or stands. A shock mount and pop filter are included too so that you can make the best quality recordings possible. You'll also need a computer and some DAW software, but you'll need to get these for yourself. Most DAWs will do a decent job, but it's worth spending some time figuring out which software package would suit you best.

For every budget

Both series consist of five kits in varying price classes and for clarity we've named them Budget, Essential, Artist, Star and Superstar. The equipment that makes up each kit has been chosen for its quality rather than its price, which means the kits at the top end are quite an investment.
