General

Outfitted with just three tone controls, the Fire Red Fuzz from Mad Professor looks fairly straightforward. Luckily, looks can be deceiving, because the FRF is actually able to whip up a wide variety of different fuzz sounds. The Tone pot lets you dial in fuzz effects ranging from dark and sinister variants to bright sparkling and even over-the-top-distorted versions. In fact, the fuzz spectrum is so broad, it'll actually feel like you're playing with a complete different rig at some point.

Finland's Finest Fuzz

Finland's finest fuzz pedal encompasses a compressed and fat effect that adds the same kind of sustain to both low and high frequencies. So, whether you're playing a bass line on the low strings or rocking out near the 12th fret, every note gets treated to the same sustain. While fuzz pedals of lesser quality are often limited in use because they spin out of control when you try to dial in more extreme settings, the FRF keeps things nice and harmonic regardless of the circumstances.

Wired by Real Human Hands

Mad Professor serves up its pedals in two flavours: Hand-Wired and Factory. Both series guarantee years of effect-based joy and are made using exactly the same components. The difference is that in the case of the hand-wired models, each contact point has been soldered by hand to make sure the pedal is even more durable and resistant to heavy-duty use as its Factory counterpart.
