General

With the U-PHORIA UMC202HD, Behringer offers a new and improved version of the UMC202. Compared to its predecessor, this model can record in 192kHz quality. It's also equipped with two high-quality preamplifiers that are suited for line and microphone levels. You'll find that the U-PHORIA UMC202HD is built like a metaphorical tank, making it ideal for mobile applications that might involve a bit of turbulence. To put it simply, this interface puts a complete mobile studio in your hands.

The Behringer U-PHORIA UMC202HD: Zero-Latency Monitoring

This interface is great for everything from recording quick demos to composing full-fledged productions. And because Behringer knows there's nothing more annoying than enormous latency (a delay between the recording and the audio reproduction due to computer processing) they've added the direct monitoring function, which works by connecting the input signal directly to the headphone output. The volume and the source can be controlled via the front of the interface.

I use it with Logic X. Recorded electric guitar and it's a good clean sound. Simple to use, built to last. Best price by Bax, fast efficient postal service, many thanks.

Very happy with this audio interface, the 202HD. I practice music with some others and now gone virtual so needed one for Jamkazam. People with more cash will probably go for the, err, let's say the red coloured one, which is considered a "standard" now and I'm sure very good but about double the price. As a newcomer to this the 202HD suits me well and does everything I would want, playing an Alesis electronic drum kit over Internet through Jamkazam. 2 inputs, line and instrument, 2 jack outputs at the back if needed, sturdy settings controls on the front with headphones out. If you look at the Behringer range the 202HD leaps up in specs from the 2 below it in the AI line for not a huge extra cost. Well worth it I think and a bit smug at saving some cash over the more hyped alternative products.

I'm a novice when it comes to recording so I wanted something easy to use. I didn't have a big budget and this fits the bill perfectly in both cases. I had the interface connected to my PC, set up within a few minutes and was able to record some demos straight away. I already had experimented with Audacity, which recognised the UMC202HD immediately, so haven't tried the Tracktion software yet. Very happy with it as it's perfect for producing my demos and recording separate tracks to be mixed elsewhere for group recordings.

I bought this interface after reading the reviews, and I was not disappointed! It’s bomb proof,‘and does exactly what it says on the tin!

This is the first product I have bought from Bax and I’ve been very impressed! Great prices, great customer service, and great delivery times. I’ll be back!

I'm really impressed with this! Sounds great, and does everything it says on the box. There's no noticable noise, except at very high gain. I'm almost surprised that they needed a direct monitor function - Trackiton Waveform calculated a delay of only 4ms.

Great interface - downloaded the drivers and we were off and linked up in no time. Had a live band streaming online in less than an hour.

Love it.

I know nothing about interfaces. Bought this for my 14 year old son to use. He is a complete novice but has been able to plug and play. It's amazingly easy to use with online tutorials and supporting software. A great buy at a really reasonable price.

Awesome! The product is amazing. Don't try to compare against others of the same price point. You can't as they don't exist. You have to compare against products twice the price and more to make it a fair fight.

The'difference' between the UMC202HD and say the Focusrite are negligible that they don't matter and the UMC beats it in some instances. Save the money and get some good quality cables. The savings make them free.

The customer service of Bax is top notch! You are kept informed every step of your orders journey right through to arrival at your door.

Couple that with the brilliant product and you will not just be happy and delighted but you'll no longer have to spend hours searching in the future for where to buy your kit. You'll know to go straight to Bax.

Bax stock quality products, give quality reviews and quality service. There's nothing else to say.

Cheers,

Dave

EXCELLENT VALUE FROM BAX - keep your eye on their website, as I got this for £40 less than the (advertised) retail price - but certainly significantly less than other sites were advertising it for - and LESS than some were selling for SECONDHAND on eBay, when adding their delivery cost! (BAX gave free delivery over £50, so I just added a couple of items - one that I actually wanted, which again, was less than 50% of the price I can buy it for in my local Music Shop!) Delivery time not QUITE as they advertise, (i.e. order by 10.00pm, delivered 2 working days later,) but I believe that's because they're not based in the UK, and it wasn't an issue. Communication from BAX was excellent too. I wanted the unit to increase the input volume from my guitar into Garageband, for when I want to play softly - which it does fine. (Had problem getting it to work initially, especially through my effects pedal, but am pretty sure this was due to the amount of settings you need to adjust, both on the Mac and in Garageband.) Confused as to why Behringer think it's a good idea to monitor through the headphones only through the LEFT channel! You're not able to hear any tracks you've already recorded through the right channel anyway, so if you're creating your first - or one and only - track, it's rather off-putting! However, I overcame this by wiring a 6.35mm (1/4”) jack plug to a 35mm in-line female jack socket, soldering the 2 central stereo connections together on both, so I now get sound through both (in-ear) headphones, but only in mono - which is all that's required. Same situation can be applied using a 1/4” in-line jack socket, if you have a 1/4” jack plug on your “over-the-head” headphones. So come on Behringer - what's the thought process here, please? All in all, really pleased with the unit - especially at the price.

Thursday 7 January 2016 By Richard | Bax Music

These days, films can be recorded entirely on smartphones, and some YouTubers are more famous than television presenters. The gap between professionals and amateurs is becoming smaller. Cameras on today's smartphones offer excellent image quality that is getting harder and harder to distinguish from 'the real thing'. Sound quality on smartphones, on the other hand, is an area that is still in need of some improvement. That's where the iKlip A/V from IK Multimedia comes in. It's a broadcast mount with an integrated microphone preamp that will add professional-quality sound to your smartphone footage.
