General

Despite his relative youth, Kenny Wayne Shepherd has already packed a mountain-sized career into just three decades. To celebrate, Fender offer the very special, cream-filled sound of his own Signature Strat. Right off the bat, the ash body lays down a tightly defined foundation sound while the smart chambering keeps the weight comfortably low and injects life into the core of the tone. To give brutal, full-fat rhythm parts the presence they only deserve, and fully set light to those blistering solos, Fender have been kind enough to mount a set of three Custom-Voiced Kenny Wayne Shepherd single-coils - naturally backed up by a tried-and-true, ever versatile electronics section.

The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Stratocaster: Retro Sixties Specs Plus a Few Crucial KWS Mods

Many of the specs of this Stratocaster match those of the mother of all Kenny's Fender Stratocaster's, his 1961 model, affectionately named, 'Martha'. Her voice can be heard all over earlier, classic albums, including 'Ledbetter Heights' and 'Trouble Is...'. To achieve the same vintage feel of Martha herself, this Strat comes fitted with an Early '60s C-profile neck and the rosewood fretboard has been shaped with an authentic 7.25-inch radius. Just like every Strat Kenny has ever picked up, this Signature model has 21 jumbo frets that offer exacting control over bends and vibrato, and to keep your strings cool in the heat of battle, Kenny's most-favourite GraphTech saddles finish the vintage-style synchronised tremolo bridge.

Ik ben een liefhebber van stratocasters en heb er al veel gehad, maar tegelijkertijd ben ik zelden helemaal tevreden met dit type gitaar. Dat is bij deze anders. Waar ik het geluid vaak te schel en dun vind, geeft deze gitaar een warm strat geluid met toch ook veel hoge frequenties die heel sprankelend klinken, vooral als je het midden en hals element samen inschakelt. Ik denk dat dat ook komt door de alnico 3 elementen die erin zitten. Oversturing en fuzz kan hij ook goed hebben, blijft vol klinken. Ik vind de hals van deze gitaar ook bijzonder prettig spelen. Hij is niet te dik, maar ook niet te dun en er zitten flinke jumbo fretten op en een 7.25 radius en het speelt heel soepel en precies. Ik had een klein euvel met mijn exemplaar: de toonregeling van mijn exemplaar werkte niet, maar dat hebben ze bij Bax keurig, snel en gratis voor mij verholpen. Top.

Une guitare d'exception a un prix Bax ! que dire de plus ? pas grand chose, la couleur Transparent Sonic Blue est encore plus belle en vrai que sur les photos, la guitare est légère avec son corps chambered mais ne pique pas du nez et les micros sont juste excellents avec une mention spéciale au micro manche qui est juste fabuleux.
