General
B.C. Rich is the brand for metal guitarists. They produce proper shredders that look amazing. Take this rather daunting Avenge ASOBO Onyx with Red Bevels, also known as Son of Beast, for instance. This tough black and red guitar has a sizeable spiky body modelled after the Beast. However, it is ten percent smaller for increased playing comfort. What's more, the Avenge ASOBO Onyx is a genuine workhorse and made for ploughing through the fields of metal. It comes readily armed with a slender, fast 24-fret neck with red ABS Bats inlays and a single high-output humbucker that's ready for the rough stuff. Its hardware is all black too - what did you expect from such a metal monster?
B.C. Rich Avenge Son of Beast Onyx's construction
The body of the Son of Beast is made of basswood, a wood type that ensures a full, warm tone and that is also lightweight, which is perfect as this guitar is quite big. The edges of its black body have elegant bevels and are finished with a blood-red lacquer for a stunning overall look. Additionally, the inlays, sides of the headstock and BC Rich logo all share the same crimson colour. The Avenge ASOBO Onyx Red Bevels has a bolt-on maple neck and a rosewood fretboard with 24 jumbo frets. Thanks to the deep cutaways, you can reach all 24 frets with ease.
Straightforward, effective electronics and hardware
The B.C. Rich Avenge Son of Beast has very straightforward electronics, consisting of a single humbucker and a single volume control. Just plug it in and start shredding! The pickup is a high-output B.C. Rich B.D.S.M. humbucker that is capable of producing a wide frequency range, making it perfect for both tight cleans and high-gain distortions. The bridge is a Tune-O-Matic, which is adjustable in height and fitted with six separately adjustable saddles for optimal intonation. A set of high-quality sealed self-lubricating tuners completes the picture.
