General

The Ricatech PR22 is a super compact little nostalgia bomb available in three different colours. While this 50s retro radio may look like it's dropped straight out of yesteryear, it's made with new, up to date components. The fixed, telescopic antenna can pick up AM and FM stations and you scan through them all using the satisfying rotary dial next to the chic speaker grille. The little mono-speaker itself packs a 2 Watt maximum and can get surprisingly loud considering it size. There's a headphone output included on the PR22 just in case you want to listen to Desert Island Discs a little more discretely and, if you want to listen at the park or on the bus, there's a battery compartment so you can take this little piece of fun anywhere!

In the near future, old-fashioned AM/FM radio will be replaced by digital radio, also known as DAB radio (Digital Audio Broadcast). DAB protocol has been in development since the '80s, and now it's making room for the more efficient and comprehensive DAB+. DAB+ utilises AAC audio instead of MPEG-2 audio. Because AAC audio deals with available bandwidth more efficiently, other media such as traffic information, program information and slide shows can also be transmitted via DAB+ protocol

For a Limited Time Only: Adele's 25 on Vinyl with the Ricatech RMC250 Deluxe!

Wednesday 10 February 2016

Hello, it's Bax-shop. We were wondering if, after all these years, Ricatech and Adele would like to meet... And we profusely apologise for starting out with such a bad joke. Adele's new album has broken countless records, and is a resounding success, both commercially and critically. The only thing that might make it better than it already was, is to add the charm that only vinyl could bring. Of course, that does mean you'll need a record player, too!
