Duende Basic Cajon

General

As its name suggests, the Basic Cajon is Duende's entry-level instrument, and it boasts a beautiful balance between bass and trebles, and is neither too sharp nor too powerful. The bass or kick sound is nice and dry, while the snare sound is quite clear without being too pronounced. It's an excellent instrument for percussionists looking for a great all-round cajon.

Basic Cajon: materials

The Basic cajon's frontplate is made of pine wood, while the rest of the body is made of African okoume wood. The only string in the body is attached in a V-shape behind the front plate, which helps create a sound that is a nice bridge between the traditional Peruvian cajon and modern Spanish flamenco cajons. Like all Duende cajons, the Basic cajon is hand-crafted in Spain.
