JAM released a series of Bluetooth-compatible speakers for mobile audio fanatics, including this one: the JAM Heavy Metal. If you're not a fan of the genre, don't let the name put you off though - it'll do equally well for pop, jazz, children's songs or German schlager music, whatever you prefer. The Heavy Metal moniker is mostly about the material this stereo speaker is made of. JAM chose to give it an anodised aluminium housing. Not only does that give it a sleek, tough look, it also means that it's very durable indeed. You can use this speaker in combination with tablets, smartphones and other Bluetooth-compatible media devices.
JAM Heavy Metal: wireless and compact
Thanks to its wireless capabilities, you can use this Bluetooth speaker wherever you are. As it's nice and compact, it's easy to take with you to parties, rehearsal sessions or any other event that could use a spot of music, where you can simply connect your phone via Bluetooth and press play. After that, you can put your phone back in your pocket, as the speaker features several controls on top for adjusting volume, skipping tracks, etc., as long as you stay within 10 metres of the speaker. If you'd rather use a cable to connect a device to the speaker, you can use the aux input. The JAM Heavy Metal features a battery that will last up to 8 hours. When it runs out, you can recharge it using the included USB cable, or you can attach the included power supply to the speaker.
Small size, big sound
Despite its modest 20 x 60cm dimensions, this JAM speaker manages to produce an impressive, powerful sound. That is partly due to the dual drivers and the passive dual bass radiator. These allow you to easily fill any space with music, no matter where in the room you place the speaker. Massive volume, bright trebles and thumping bass ensure that you'll optimally experience your music. Furthermore, when your phone is connected, you can even use the Heavy Metal to answer incoming calls and put them on speakerphone. In short, the JAM Heavy Metal is a highly compact, stylish and versatile Bluetooth speaker with an impressive sound.

If you expect a better sound from such a. compact speaker you need your hearing tested or climb off your ivory tower.

Door het zeer beperkte volume is dit zeer geschikt voor in de tent op de camping, maar zeker niet voor een festival.
Klassieke muziek kent veel dynamiek ( verschil tussen luide en zachte passages ) en dan valt de Heavy Metal direct door de mand, de zachtere stukken hoor je nauwelijks.
Heavy Metal, trash Metal etc. klinkt blikkerig en niet mooi ( dus doet zijn naam geen eer aan )
Ook lees ik iets over bassen ! Lage tonen tonen zullen ze bedoelen want echt bas komt er niet uit.
Vormgeving is strak en netjes, mooi afgewerkt ( ook de knoppen aan de bovenkant ) en de behuizing ziet er gewoon stevig uit en door het gewicht voelt het ook stevig. Makkelijke bediening.
Over de duur van de accu kan ik niks melden omdat de Jam na een uurtje testen weer retour gaat en ik toch maar een andere autoradio ga kopen voor meer volume/kanaalscheidng.
Zoek je iets wat echt niet hard hoeft dan heb je hier een leuk boxje wat uiterlijk erg aan de Bose Minilink doet denken, zelfs qua geluid niet echt een groot verschil, wel de prijs.
Alleen het volume had voor mijn doeleinden nog veel harder gemogen dus nu toch nog opzoek naar een andere speaker, maar voor het huis-, tuin- en keukengebruik een prima aanwinst.
