General

Gallien-Krueger is a high-end American bass guitar amp maker. Among the avid users of Gallien-Krueger equipment are artists the likes of Flea, Tom Hamilton and Duff McKagan, as well as Jazz legend Dave Holland. They're fans for a good reason, as GK is loved for its own unique sound. The 1001RB-II too, offers the model image for the warm, punchy sound with quick response of a GK bass amplifier. With 700 watts of power (+ 75W tweeter power) it even outdoes the 700RB-II. Other than that, it shares many functions with its smaller brother, including a 2U rack size and a weight of under 22 lbs.

Gallien Krueger 1001RB-II: full control over your sound

The GK 1001RB MKII is filled to the brim with expansive, yet very intuitive tone-shaping controls. Naturally it is fitted with GK's active 4-band EQ, which allows you to boost or filter four specific bass frequencies. Additionally, there's a voicing section with a contour and presence to scoop mids and add extra sparkle. Push the 4/5 String Bass switch and the voicing is automatically adjusted to the lower frequencies of 5-string bass guitars. Thanks to the oceans of headroom and -14dB pad switch in the input section of the Gallien Krueger 1001RB-II, you can use both passive and active bass guitars.

Bi-Amp and DI output

When you connect the 1001RB-II to a GK cabinet with Horn Bi-Amp via a 4-way SpeakOn cable, you can use the built-in digital crossover to separately control the volume of the woofer and the tweeter. What's more, this crossover sends the characteristic GK edge of the Gate Induced Valve Effect only to the woofer, as it sounds less than perfect through a tweeter. Additionally, there's a tuner output with a mute function, an FX loop and a high-quality DI output with ground lift and pre/post switch on the Gallien-Krueger 1001RB-II.
