General

This is already the eleventh incarnation of Sound Forge, Sony's powerful audio editing software package. For years, Sound Forge has supported producers and engineers, providing the right tools for profound, powerful audio editing. Version 11 facilitates complex sound edits even more, thanks to an enhanced workflow and interface. The recording interface has been completely redesigned. One-Touch Recording allows you to stay inside your projects, but provides a clear overview of, and total control over incoming audio. Starting and stopping recordings, editing and making preparations for a next take - all can be done quicker than ever.

Sound Forge Pro 11: powerfully enhanced

Alongside the new recording module, the loudness section has also received due attention. It now complies with CALM standards, which have been created to optimally adjust the dynamic range and volume of commercials and TV sounds - certainly no unnecessary luxury in these days of blaring TV ads. With regards to plug-ins, there is a new chain interface that grants direct access to each element of the chained plug-ins in your project. And some more good plug-in news: iZotope Nectar Elements has been included. This package provides you with top-notch voice editing tools, including ready-to-use style presets. From rock to voice-overs, with a simple push of a button your vocals sound like they should.

Restore and export

A number of iZotope Restore and Repair plug-ins allow for accurate polishing and restoration of your sounds. Additionally, Sound Forge Pro 11 supplies you with a Declipper, a Denoiser and a Declicker - tools that keep the original audio intact but filter out what is unwanted. In addition to restoring, you can also provide some 'colouring' for your audio, by means of the many bus effects. The right vibe for a project can easily be found. Sound Forge veterans already know that this software delivers professional results. Its Broadcast Wave export functionality is indispensable for media applications, and the software allows for fantastic 5.1 mixing. Basically, this eleventh version of the Sony software has perfected the Swiss army knife of audio editing that Sound Forge Pro really is.
