By now, iZotope has issued an impressive list of effect plugins, all equally user-friendly and versatile. With iZotope RX Final Mix, the company has added a remarkable audio software package to their renowned RX series. The program resembles a mastering package, but was developed specifically for mixes and sub-mixes. It focusses on specific peaks in your audio, and creates a nice and smooth sonic balance. Using Final Mix, you can add a boost to your dialogues, giving them a bit more presence.
Characteristics of iZotope RX Final Mix
In essence, the package consists of a dynamic equalizer and an intelligent limiter. The equalizer focusses on specific areas of your audio, assisted by a compressor. Likewise, the limiter enables you to edit peaks. The algorithm wasn't designed to create radical effects, but to provide a lovely, natural transparency. To give the effect a bit more direction, you can choose from three limiter styles: Clear, Smooth and Thick. RX Final Mix is a great tool for the post-production sector, and film and TV editors will make great use of it. The iZotope is particularly suitable for the film industry, however, as it supports configurations up to 7.1 surround.

- RX Final Mix supports configurations up to 7.1 surround, but your host might not support this. Final Cut and Logic, for instance, support stereo only, as they work exclusively with AU plugins.
